MCA Cafe

The MCA Cafe, the restaurant at the Museum of Contemporary Art, is one of the coolest nosh joints around, thanks to a great selection of coffee and booze, surprisingly good sandwiches, pizzas, and charcuterie boards and spectacular views from the rooftop location. The rub? You have to cough up the museum's $12 admission charge to get in. A better option? The MCA's $55 individual annual membership. Not only do you receive all those VIP perks, but you get unlimited access to the restaurant, which feels like a cafe turned private clubhouse. You often have the place to yourself when it opens, and if you can hang on for nine hours, you'll watch it transform into a swanky members-only bar as night comes on.
