Pierre Michel Organic French Bakery Cafe

Although it opens relatively early every morning – and 7 a.m. is reasonable for a bakery -- Pierre Michel Organic French Bakery Cafe doesn’t always close at the same hour, and that’s because there are days when hordes of locals and clued-in out-of-towners who are addicted to the pastries, croissants, quiches and French baguettes churned out here will snatch up every last loaf, in which case the little shop locks the doors an hour or two early. Owners Eric and Isabelle (and their three children) craft each dish and pastry with care, and the breakfast and lunch menus shift to accommodate seasonal abundance -- though you’ll usually find a drool-worthy breakfast sandwich on the lineup, as well as several French-toast sandwich creations. There’s not much seating inside, but you can call in your lunch order so that you can jet right back to the office -- assuming you catch the staff before they close for the day, of course.
