The Wooden Table

The view through the Wooden Table's windows might not be much, but Brett Shaheen's food is a stunning sight. Shaheen, who'd worked in the kitchen at Osteria Marco, opened the Wooden Table in September 2011 with business partner Jane Duncan Knauf; the two had met years earlier at a LoDo restaurant. But instead of inking a deal on a central spot, they decided on this space in Greenwood Village, with the goal of bringing a downtown dining experience to a suburban strip mall. The result is a restaurant that would be welcome in any part of town. The setting is sleek and modern yet comfortable, the service smooth, and the dishes coming out of Shaheen’s kitchen amazing, displaying beautiful balance with an Italian accent.
