After a six-decade run, Jerry Feld sold Club 404 in December 2011. After that, it was the short-lived Denver Wheel Club 404, a bike-oriented bar, and in January 2013, Kevin Geraghty took it over and spent a year renovating before opening it as Brendan's Pub, the live-music venue he ran in a location on Market Street for ten years and later on Larimer Street. But now the building at 404 Broadway has been seized by the State of Colorado for nonpayment of taxes.

After graduating from college and moving to Denver in the '70s, Geraghty started going to Club 404. He says in a previous article that Club 404 was part of his life for a long time and that he probably wouldn't have gotten back into business unless it was for something like this. In January 2014, Brendan's launched its live -music program with a set from Sean Kelly, frontman of the Samples. The venue's renovated listening room had a 75-person capacity. Known more recently for regular open-mike and jam nights, Brendan's once was a reliable spot for blues, named Denver's Best Blues Club and Best Club Comeback over the years in various Westword Best Of issues.
