In case you missed it, last night at a gig in London at the iTunes Festival, Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters (due October 9 at the Pepsi Center) stopped his set mid-song and singled out an unruly fan and basically told him in to scram! Beat it, buster! Hit the bricks! Grohl was a little more profane about it, of course. We cleaned it up for the kids. His exact words:

"Hey, in the striped shirt, look at me right here, motherfucker. Look at me! Look at me! Get the fuck out of my show right now. Get the fuck out! Get the fuck out of my show! Get the fuck out of my show! Right now! You don't come to my show and fight -- you come to my show and fucking dance, you asshole! Get the fuck out of here!"

And when the crowd starts erupts in applause in response to seeing him do what we bet Kurt Cobain would've loved to have done at least a million times over the course of his career every time he encountered some mouthbreathing steakhead, Grohl deflects their praise with the same sort of hamfisted eloquence: "Yeah, whatever. Fucking shutup! That guy was an asshole. He's out of here."

You've gotta love Grohl, man. The gum-chewing frontman is one of the most down-to-earth "rock stars" there is today. Hands down. And he clearly has a stupendous sense of humor and doesn't take himself too seriously. Catch Grohl and company on Sunday, October 9, with Cage the Elephant and Mariachi El Bronx. Totally worth a look, and you'll see what we mean about him being down-to-earth.
