The Denver Doom Fest, which was held last December at the Larimer Lounge, has expanded to two days this year and will take place on Friday, October 5 and Saturday, October 6 at 3 Kings Tavern. While the lineup features some returning acts from last year, such as Royal Talons, the Flight of Sleipnir, Black Sleep of Kali and Stoic Dissention, there's also a number of new acts on the bill for Doom Fest II, including November's Doom, Clinging to the Trees of a Forest Fire, Adai and more. Tickets for Doom Fest II are $15 for the first day, $20 for the second day, or $30 for both days. Page down for the complete lineup.

Amanda Fickas of Obsidian Fog Promotions, which specializes in booking doom metal, black metal, death metal and thrash metal acts, teamed up with Zach Salmans of Stoic Dissention to put on the first Doom Fest last year since there are a ton of local doom bands. Fickas sees Denver as the mecca for doom in the Rocky Mountain region, adding that while last year's fest featured mainly local acts, this year's will include national and regional bands as well.

"It's way bigger than it was last year," Fickas says. "Last year we just had the one date because we were just trying it out. It just blew up. So we were like, 'Okay, we have to do this for two days.' We're just really excited about it. It's just going to be a really awesome two days of doom metal."
