Update, 05/12: We just received word that DeVotchKa will be stopping by eTown at the Boulder Theater on Wednesday, June 1, for a live taping with Joe Purdy, playing tonight at the Bluebird Theater.

If you happen upon a bunch of starry-eyed students in caps and gowns this Saturday at the University of Colorado Denver's commencement ceremony, don't be surprised. And don't automatically assume that the looks of utter euphoria plastered to their faces are because they're graduating.

Oh, sure, the students are all likely to be stoked to finally have finished their studies, but that's not why they'll be all giddy. We're guessing they'll all still be buzzing from seeing DeVotchKa the night before. Yeah. How about that? Talk about a weekend to remember. Not sure how the school managed to convince Nick Urata and company to perform at the Kenneth King Center this Friday night, other than the fact that Jeanie Schroder is a CU Denver College of Arts & Media alum. Apparently, membership really does have its privileges. (BTW, we hear the show is sold out, but if find out about any tickets being released, we'll you let you know asap.)
