Happy Wednesday. Yes, we've looked outside and know there's not much happy about this dreary day. Winter, it seems, is eager to rear it's ugly head. Nonetheless, we've got a bunch of tickets for some shows tonight that will hopefully help ease some of the pre-winter blues. First up, is Meshell Ndegeocello at the Boulder Theater. If you're unfamiliar with her, let's just said that aside from being an exceptional, multi-faceted musician -- particularly as a bassist, she's truly worthy of being in the pantheon of greats -- she's a captivating singer and songwriter. A few years back, she appeared in Standing In the Shadows of Motown, a compelling documentary focusing on the Funk Brothers, the unsung studio aces behind that imprints earliest hits. For your chance to win tickets to her show tonight, drop us a line and tell us what Motown classic she covered. With the weather, if you'd rather stay closer to the city, we've also got tickets to see the Nadas, a band whose seemingly made Denver its second home, at the Bluebird, and Great Lake Swimmers at the Larimer Lounge. And we'll make it simple to get your hands on those tix. For your chance to win, tell us where each act hails from. From the correct answers we receive, we'll pick some winners later this afternoon and shoot you an e-mail to let you know you won. So be sure to check your e-mail between 3 and 4 p.m. Happy humpday!
