Update: Whoa! Stop the presses. So we were just getting ready to send word via Twitter that tomorrow night's show had been canceled (see original post below), and we stopped by John Grant's Twitter page, which led us to his Facebook page and that's where learned the actual reason his tour was canceled. Evidently, it has nothing to do with illness. And while we're relieved that John's health doesn't appear to be in peril, the actual reason his tour has been given the hook (see his status update below) has us feeling rather sick.

If indeed true, this news is truly disheartening. If you haven't heard Queen of Denmark yet, give it a listen. It's worthy of your time. It was one of our favorite albums last year, and given all of the personal and professional turmoil that Grant has overcome since his time in Denver, we were really looking forward to seeing him perform it live. Shame we won't be able to now.

Got some good news and bad news for you: First the good: If you're like us and were impossibly torn between catching John Grant's eagerly anticipated return to Denver tomorrow night at the Walnut Room and checking out Sleigh Bells at the Ogden, the choice just became a lot easier. Which brings us to the bad news: Due to an unspecified illness, Grant's tour has been canceled. We'll let you know if a new date gets scheduled. In the meantime, keep an eye out for our extended Q&A with the former Czars frontman, as well as a Sleigh Bells interview later today.
