Noise shows seem to happen in spurts in Denver. One weekend there will be seventeen different shows going on and then there won't any for a month and half. Thankfully, Backwards Records has decided to resurrect the monthly series first started by Jonathan Canady and Matt Jones in 1997. Night of Noise will be at Old Curtis Street Bar every fourth Friday of the month.

The first installment will kick off on Friday, March 25, with Sterile Garden, Circle Six, Kuxaan-sum, Novasak and DJ Mudwulf. Being a Backwards Records associated production, it will be hosted by John Gross, who -- if he follows the formula of the first iteration of the Night of Noise, as well as the Backwards Record night that once took over Kazmos -- will be bringing in plenty of different acts and styles over the course of the night. If you need some type of comparison, you can probably think of it as a harsher, better goth night with a larger focus on industrial and noise.
