Schoolboy Q was the target of a shooting last night at Red Rocks that left three injured

Update: More details have emerged about last night's shooting outside Red Rocks, and it appears the shooter was targeting Schoolboy Q after his performance opening for Nas and Flying Lotus.

Schoolboy Q had just gotten into a white SUV near the south entrance of the actual amphitheater when someone who was waiting nearby opened fire. A source close to driver Brandon West tells Westword's Britt Chester that West was hit in the hand and sped off toward downtown Denver. Two other people in the car were hit, neither of them Schoolboy Q.

West got all the way to Sixth and Kalamath, where police surrounded the vehicle. The three victims were taken to Denver Health, which is where West is lying in the photo below.

Our source says West was working as Schoolboy Q's driver all day yesterday, and that all three victims are currently in stable condition.

The Jefferson County sheriff's office also notes that investigators anticipate being out of Red Rocks today. Tonight's Skrillex show will go on as planned.

The California rapper has weighed in himself as well, tweeting the following:

There was a shooting last night outside Red Rocks following last night's Nas, Flying Lotus and Schoolboy Q concert. Three victims are currently in the hospital and the Jefferson County sheriff's office is looking for a suspect described as "a black man, 5'10 to 6 foot tall, wearing black clothing and carrying a rifle," according to 7News.

The victims fled the scene in a white SUV. According to Jefferson Country public information officer Mark Techmeyer, the vehicle refused to stop for police until it arrived at Sixth and Kalamath. Photos taken by Karl Gehring of the Denver Post and others showed a man who looks a lot like Schoolboy Q being handcuffed there by Denver police officers, but Techmeyer says as far as he knows, no one was taken into custody and no arrests have been made.

He says his assumption is that the officers found no reason to arrest the man pictured: "In a situation like this, they will bring everyone out of the car and handcuff them until they figure out what's going on."
