Called "Sexy Disco Legs" by creator Aaron Hart and his team, the unique design is something he wants to be "the new standard" for hung-from-the-ceiling party lighting. The idea came from looking around for a design to hang in his apartment, and then he just decided to design something interesting himself after seeing mirrored mannequins online. The legs launched right before Christmas, and Hart hopes to see them in clubs around town due to their sensual look and interesting pattern display.
"It's actually a pretty cool pattern," Hart says. "It's almost as full of a reflection as a disco ball, just not as symmetrical. It's cooler."
If asymmetrical lights in the shape of body parts is your thing, you can purchase a pair, which are 55 inches long and weigh 10 pounds, at sexydiscolegs.com. Right now that particular pose is the only one available, but Hart says they are thinking of creating more designs in the future. The legs come at a price of $999. That is considerably more than a disco ball, which, on the low-end, costs around $30 or a few hundred game tickets at an arcade. But, the pair of legs a custom design, to say the least.
Also, if Hart has his way, you'll also see them at clubs like Beta and City Hall (where they made an appearance New Year's Eve) in the near future "It's less about selling them and more about getting them into the clubs where my friends and I go out," he says. "We want to party with them."
So, how did Hart decide that the ballerina-esque pose was the future of disco lighting? He just knew.
"It has that sexy dance vibe to it," Hart says. "I saw it and thought, 'That's it.'"
