Rising to pop prominence in the early '80s in a whirlwind of other radio-friendly heavy metal acts, Def Leppard (due at Comfort Dental Amphitheatre tonight with Heart) pushed through the decade's big hair trends and has been making records and touring ever since. This year's release, Mirrorball: Live and More and its companion tour are an excellent example of the band's ability to not only keep its cadre of old school fans' attention, but garner that of a whole new generation.

Def Leppard is sharing the bill with Heart, a band that has also weathered the ever-changing musical landscape for decades and helped to form a place in popular music for heavier guitar-driven acts to come. This show is all ages, and tickets are $25-125. Doors open at 6 p.m., and bands start at 7 p.m.
