Justin Bieber, Anton Dodson -- every individual who devoted a special solo dance to Ginuwine's "Pony" -- they all have YouTube to thank for providing a free entertainment platform to millions of viewers.

California-bred singer and songwriter Kina Grannis, who plays the Soiled Dove Underground tonight, took advantage of the built-in audience, too, and made her way to a spot in front of over 90 million Super Bowl watchers in 2008.

After winning the Doritos "Crash the Super Bowl" Contest in 2008 via YouTube with her video for "Message From Your Heart," Grannis was well on her way. Interscope Records came calling, but Grannis turned down the deal, instead forging her own way using YouTube (as well as Twitter and iTunes) to connect with fans and share her music.

Catch Grannis tonight at the Soiled Dove. This show is all ages, and tickets are $12. Doors at 7 p.m., show begins at 8 p.m.
