Although the ascension of Mumford & Sons (playing the first of two shows at the Fillmore Auditorium tonight with Nathaniel Rateliff & Fairchildren and Matthew and the Atlas) may seem rather fast, the English dudes have been making gorgeous folk rock together for almost five years. The act's first and only release, 2009's Sigh No More, is definitely an accordion-twinged throwback to simpler times, but the quartet's chorus of voices brings more modern lyrical imagery to life.

After receiving exposure on Letterman and the Grammys in the past year, Mumford & Sons' star has continued to rise, which is reflected in the size of the venues the band is playing these days (this pair of shows at the Fillmore this time around is a considerable step up from the Ogden, where Mumford & Sons played last fall.) This show is all ages, and tickets are $35. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the acts start at 7:30 p.m.
