Of Mice & Men (playing this evening at the Marquis Theater with I Set My Friends on Fire, Sleeping With Sirens and Woe Is Me) has had a tumultuous three-year run as a band. The group's backstory reads like a daytime drama. Vocalist and founder Austin Carlile was kicked out (or left the band, depending on who's telling the story) in 2010, in part because he needed heart surgery, which left him incapable of touring. He also got married, which also seemed to touch some nerves, and a battle of the social-networking words was launched, pitting the singer against his own band (including co-founder and friend Jaxin Hall) and his former band, Attack! Attack!

But all is now well, and after some other lineup changes, Of Mice & Men is back on tour with Carlile at the screaming helm, promoting the band's second record, The Flood, due out in June. This show is all-ages, and tickets are $15. Doors open at 6 p.m., bands start at 7.
