Putting this radio show together sure has been eye opening for me to say the least. In the past, I never gave much thought to songs being profane. I'm no prude, by any means. In fact, I've been known to curse with such frequency that you'd think I was getting paid for it or something -- well, except, of course, when I'm around my mom. But that's neither here nor there. Point is, each week as I'm listening to songs trying figuring out what we're going to play on the show (I believe the pros call this "show prep"), I'm astounded by how much gratuitous profanity I encounter. I say gratuitous, because most of the time it strikes me as just that. Sure, sometimes it's used fittingly to punctuate a point, but for the most part it's superfluous, like, why, man? Really? An act whose song (a different one, obviously) I played tonight, for instance, chose to ruin a perfectly lovely song by dropping an F-bomb -- for no apparent reason other than they could. Baffles me. These are the things I think about these days.

Anyhow, last night we had a rather good show. Andy and I enjoyed it, anyhow. We played a wide array of music. Seriously. Take a look at the playlist below. We went from knock down, straight-up boogies to dream rock to metal to post-punk to folk to pop -- all in one show. And we had Solar Bear in the studio. What a bunch of great guys. We talked about and played a few songs from their new record. Fun was had by all.

For those who keep asking, we're still working on podcasting. Should be within the next week or so. In the meantime, check back later this afternoon. Gonna try and post a link to a YouSend it file or whatever. Not sure how many downloads we're allowed, but we're thinking we'll just put it out there and see what happens. *A couple of quick broadcast notes: The show is broken up into two parts. The first hour correlates with the playlist posted above it, as does the second hour. Speaking of the second hour, you'll notice a few glaring errors: First, I butcher the name of the song we played from Lion Sized. It's "Lost Limbs," not "Loose Limbs." (Idiot!) And that only added insult to injury, really. I'm not sure if it went over the air this way or if it was a glitch with the live stream -- clearly, I was doing too much at once and wasn't paying close enough attention -- the CD skips noticeably throughout. My apologies for the blunder. We'll make it up next week by spinning an I.O.U. track, maybe two. Aside from that, assuming you can withstand our incessant jibber jabber, there's some great music for you to enjoy. Have at it.
