LAURA JONES @ NORAD DANCE BAR | FRI, 9/28/12 A classically trained pianist who also sang and played cello and clarinet growing up, Laura Jones exploded onto the scene last year with releases on Leftroom and Visionquest; the songs "Love in Me" and "Live a Little" gained play on dance floors all over the planet, and she's been remixed by such heavyweights as Eats Everything, Maceo Plex and Kate Simko. Before she started producing floor-scorching tracks, this shooting star (who's based out of Leeds, England) was mixing them, weaving hypnotic webs that ensnare dancers for hours. There's no doubt she'll be using her talent for cross-pollination in the future, too: Expect to hear more of her gorgeous voice in her own production work as she builds up her catalogue. It's a coup to have her at House Fridays at NORAD Dance Bar this Friday, September 28, with P-Nut and Kevin Callison opening things up.

Tonight at Beta brings the 12th Planet residency with Coult-45 and Subliminal; in the Beatport Lounge, Jaceo & Vedic Dublin, DJ LoBoT and Laru Loud bring the underground techno to the masses. (9 p.m., 21+, $5-$15)
DJ Bl3nd throws down with Robo, Hello Audio, DJ Vue and DJ Cruz tonight at the Church for a packed lineup for your dancing pleasure. (9 p.m., 18+, $15-$20)
If you feel like setting up shop at one place and then just hanging out there all day, drinking, dancing and conversing, the Meadowlark is the ideal spot for you get your fix on Saturday. Start early in the day with DJ Lowkey's Goodness, which makes the move to Saturdays this week from 2 to 9 p.m., and then stick around for Casual, the once-every-six-months shindig hosted by Mile High Soul Club's Tyler Jacobson.
Grassroots California headquarters will be providing the pre-party for Rowdytown with free drinks and food at the flagship store at 2209 Larimer Street. With beats provided by Mikey Thunder and The Candyman, two buses ready to take guests to Red Rocks safely, and all the hats and swag you could ever need, this will be the best way to get rowdy for one of the last shows at Red Rocks for the year, and it's all free.
Altitude Sickness returns to Casselman's Bar and Venue with headliners Captain Panic. Along with a handful of other talent holding down the stage for the night, Casselman's promises this to be a dubsteppers heaven. (8 p.m., 18+, $5-$15)
LA Riots headlines Beta on Saturday night with the group's unique blend of bass-centric and house-derived genres; Marshall Monica and Dragon will do what they can to keep up. (9 p.m., 18+, $10)
Residents RKade and Ricard will be throwing down some dope beats at Boulder's Absinthe House, along with free drinks and shots early in the night. This Saturday house party always goes hard, and adding Denver's Option4 will only send this party into the books of goto nights in the Boulder nightlife scene, and it's free.
ROOTS brings on a second installment of the locally loaded Pitch Black parties, featuring Angel Castro, Sergei Loginov, Bones, Greg Eversoul and Hipp-E (visit the event Facebook page for information). (12 a.m., 21+, $10)
Vinyl hosts four floors of tunes on Saturday night with Frankie Groove, Kon-flikt, DJ Channel, DJ Addikt and Disciple 13 will be spinning house, electro, progressive, breaks and more. (9 p.m., 18+, $3-$20)
To close things out for the weekend, the folks over at Whomp Truck have revived the Would Shop, hence the grand opening party of Would Shop 2.0, which will also double as the head quarters for Whomp Truck. You'll hear Fonzie, Paulo, Noah Deep, Broseidon, Tenure (Ishe) and Coult 45 all throwing down, and it will be the debut of the new location. Keep your eyes attached to the Would Shop Facebook page for location details, which will be released day of the show.
