In a few short days, over 120 Colorado bands will take over a venue on Austin's Sixth Street, bringing a taste of our music scene to SXSW. The five-day showcase, called the Colorado Music Party, features Denver bands like Rubedo, CRL CRRLL, Steele & Colfax and so many more alongside bands from Boulder, Evergreen, Durango, Pueblo and Fort Collins.
This Saturday, eleven bands and artists are teaming up together in Fort Collins to raise some gas money, and play one last show before they hit the road. The non-profit music incubator, SpokesBUZZ, which founded the Colorado Music Party, is sponsoring the SXSW send off this weekend. Eleven bands will play at two different venues in Fort Collins on Saturday: the Downtown Artery and Illegal Pete's. Shows start at 7 and 7:30 p.m. A ticket (the proceeds from which go to the bands) to the event gives access to both venues.
Tickets can be purchased online through Community Funded for $10 for just the ticket, or $25 with a compilation CD, and they can be picked up the night of the shows at Downtown Artery. Or, Walk-up admission can also be purchased the night of at both venues.
