Unlike most laid-off journalists, Adam Cayton-Holland has another current vocation: standup comedy. So allow us to help hype it. A Cayton-Holland DVD called Dick Jokes for Artists is available now at his MySpace and Facebook pages, as well as at better retailers such as Wax Trax and Twist & Shout. "I recorded a one-man show at Orange Cat Studios in July," Cayton-Holland says. "It was a three-camera shoot, and after much procrastination and editing, it's finally out. I'm pretty proud of it. I'm going to use it to promote myself this year -- enter a bunch of festivals and send it all around."

Fortunately, his act's easier for locals to catch. His "Los Comicos Super Hilariosos" event takes place on the last Friday of each month at the Orange Cat; witness the next extravaganza on January 30. He's also a regular at Tuesday comedy night at the Squire Lounge, 1800 East Colfax -- a bash touted in this October blog. "In fact, I'll be there tonight," Cayton-Holland says. Feel free to stop by for a laugh. -- Michael Roberts
