Update: In our previous coverage of a death on the 14400 block of East Fremont Avenue (see it below), we noted that the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office was shying away from calling the incident either a murder or a homicide.

Such shyness is over. The ACSO has now identified Arthur Price, 28, as the man detained in the case. He's being held on suspicion of murder and more. Continue for the latest.

The just-issued ACSO release reiterates the basics: Deputies arrived at an apartment complex on East Fremont at about 10:30 p.m. last night after receiving a call from a man saying he had just killed someone. Law enforcers subsequently detained a man in the parking lot of the residences and found an adult woman dead inside an apartment nearby.

Now, however, the office has named Price and noted that he's suspected of the following charges:

C.R.S. 18-3-102: Murder in the first degree, a class 1 felony C.R.S. 18-3-203: Assault in the second degree, a class 3 felony C.R.S. 18-6-803.5: Violation of a protection order, a class 2 misdemeanor C.R.S. 18-8-102: Obstructing government operations, a class 3 misdemeanor C.R.S. 18-9-111: Harassment, a class 3 misdemeanor
The allegations certainly suggest a domestic dispute gone terribly, terribly wrong. But at this writing, the victim has not been ID'd, and Price's mug shot is being held back due to the ongoing investigation. He's currently being held without bond.

Original post, 5:47 a.m. August 8: At this writing, the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office isn't characterizing an incident that took place late last night as either a murder or a homicide.

But two things are clear.

A woman is dead. And investigators learned about her death due to a call from a man who says he killed her.

Look below for the early details, as well as a photo from this tragic scene.

At about 10:30 p.m., according to the ACSO, deputies responded to an apartment complex in the 14400 block of East Fremont Avenue.

The report: An individual described only as an adult male had stated that he had just killed someone.

At the scene, deputies contacted and detained a man -- presumably the caller, although that's not explicitly stated -- in the apartment building's parking lot. They then went inside one of the units and found an adult female dead.

Investigators remain on the scene at this hour. Here's a photo tweeted moments ago by CBS4:

As of now, neither the man -- who's being referred to as a suspect -- nor the victim has been identified. But the sheriff's office doesn't believe anyone else was involved in what may or may not have been a tragic crime.
