Once again, Green Labs is proving to be a leader in Denver's canna-centric entertainment. With five pot events going on this week, the place clearly has a love for the herb, but it's not alone. Check out information about a pot photo exhibition, a charity golf tournament, Clover Leaf University courses and more in this week's Cannabis Calendar.

On Tuesday, May 12, the Learning & Educating About Disabilities Foundation will host an open-forum discussion on marijuana and the developing brain at 7 p.m. at the Ivywild School, located at 1604 South Cascade Avenue in Colorado Springs. The discussion will feature Dr. Krista Lisdahl, a university researcher who studies the effects of marijuana on developing brains, and Colorado Department of Public Health and Education officials Ali Maffey and Dr. Mike Van Dyke. Mixed Bag: Marijuana in the Highlands — a photo exhibition on the movement toward cannabis legalization — will be open for viewing from Wednesday, May 13, to Saturday, June 27, at the Colorado Photographic Arts Center. A free opening reception to meet the artists will also take place this Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. Learn more here.

The National Cannabis Chamber of Commerce will host The Organic Cannabis Movement, Part Two, at Green Labs on Wednesday, May 13, at 7 p.m. The free event will teach attendees about producing organic cannabis products, with input from industry professionals and other leaders in the marijuana movement. The Third Biennial Mother's High Tea, a celebration of pioneering women in cannabis, will take place Thursday, May 14, from 2 to 5 p.m. at History Colorado Center. The networking and speaking event will feature tea treats, a craft table and photo booth. Men and children are encouraged to attend. Tickets start at $35. Click here for more information.


Clover Leaf University will be hosting dispensary management and cannabis extraction courses on Thursday, May 14, from 4 to 8 p.m. Each individual course costs $299 to attend and lasts four hours. Classes take place at 3888 East Mexico Avenue. Learn about curriculum and more here.

Enjoy golf and giving back to the cannabis community? On Saturday, May 16, My Compassion — a nonprofit organization based in Michigan that raises awareness, education and compassion for medical marijuana patients — will hold a golf tournament, charity auction and dinner at Wellshire Golf Course to celebrate its newest branch in Colorado. There will be guest speakers, multiple thousand-dollar golf competitions, raffles and more. All proceeds will go to the My Compassion fund. For more information, click here.

Green Labs will host a number of fun and educational cannabis events over the weekend. On Saturday, May 16, it will hold one one of its popular Sushi and Joint Rolling classes — where students learn how to twist sushi rolls and spliffs and enjoy them both — at 3 p.m. for $65. Later that day, you can learn how to paint while enjoying your new rolling skills with local artist Heidi Keyes during her Puff, Pass and Paint class at 7 p.m. Admission to Keyes's class is $50. Class will stay in session on Sunday, May 17, at Green Labs as well. Healthy Healthy Honeys will put on another Get Fit Stay Lit Yoga class at 1 p.m., with a relaxing indica sesh, a one-hour yoga period and a vaporizer demonstration for $20 per person. If you're still on a health kick afterward, Cannabis Nutrition for Vibrant Health will be teaching a class at 3 p.m. on the benefits of consuming raw cannabis and will provide two different juicing demonstrations.
