Don't go quietly.

If the Larimer County Sheriff's Office is right, Charles Kettering not only lives by this maxim, but he's capable of taking it to a whole new level.

One that includes kicking, urination, defecation and a complete disregard for sprinkler systems.

The photo gallery on Kettering's Facebook page is filled with portraits, including this one of him showing off his ink....
...and a more recent image of him aboard a motorcycle.
In addition, there are plenty of fantasy illustrations. Here's one example....

...and another:
Despite Kettering's apparent admiration for the female form, his most recent police interaction is rooted in an alleged act of disrespect and violence toward just such a person.

At about 9:43 p.m. on March 8, according to the LCSO, deputies were sent to the 3600 block of Crescent Drive in Fort Collins after a woman said Kettering had assaulted her.

By the time they got there, Kettering was nowhere to be seen, but he was found shortly thereafter at another location and taken into custody.

He doesn't seem to have been thrilled by this turn of events.

The sheriff's office maintains that while en route to Larimer County Jail, he rammed his head against the interior of the patrol car on numerous occasions — and upon exiting the cruiser, he allegedly kicked a deputy  in what's described as "his inner thigh/groin area."

At that point, the account continues, deputies forced Kettering to the ground in order to gain control of him, after which he was moved to a cell — and gave a deputy a kick in the shin as a goodbye message.

Not that he was finished displaying his displeasure. The LCSO says he then urinated on the cell floor, after which he defecated there, too, and hurled the product of his exertions at the cell's window.

By the way, a sheriff's office representative interviewed for a 2011 post about what we described at the time as a feces-and-urine attack at the jail told us that human-waste fits among inmates are unusual but not hardly unprecedented.

Kettering, though, allegedly went further, by breaking the fire sprinkler in the cell, thereby causing water to flood the jail's booking area.

The facility's personnel reacted by calling out the Special Emergency Response, or SERT, team, under the theory that Kettering might be able to use the broken sprinkler as a weapon. After being asked if he'd "comply with orders so he could be removed from the cell," Kettering "made it clear he intended to fight," the LCSO states. Law enforcers say he rushed his keepers once the cell was opened and only calmed down after being tased.
By the conclusion of this episode, Kettering had racked up a healthy list of charges:
2nd Degree Assault (Class 3 Felony)

3rd Degree Assault (Class 1 Misdemeanor)

1st Degree Criminal Tampering (Class 1 Misdemeanor)

Resisting Arrest (Class 2 Misdemeanor)

Obstruct Peace Officer/Fireman (Class 2 Misdemeanor)

Criminal Mischief (Class 2 Misdemeanor)

Harassment (Class 3 Misdemeanor)

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Petty Offense)

Domestic Violence Enhancement
Nothing quiet about that.

Here's a look at Kettering's booking photo.
