Judging by his online postings, Daerius Churchill, 22, was a relentlessly positive person who was beloved by his family and friends -- which makes his murder on Sunday (days before yesterday's double-homicide at a Colorado Coalition for the Homeless-run building) that much more cruel.

The Denver Police Department is reaching out for help in discovering who ended Churchill's young and promising life. Photos, video and details below.

Churchill's Facebook page refers to him as "Daerius DenverzFinest Churchill" and features a plenitude of photos. Here's one example....

...and another.... ...and another.... ...as well as an image with a now-poignant banner: His posts, meanwhile, are consistently caring and kind. One after a storm reads:
Ima need everyone to make sure your tires are not bald and for you to go real slow on them slippery ass streets.....seeing people trying to drive a small ass car like its a F150 n shit is not cool. just saw three people crash on my way walking my little brothers and sister to school.....Be safe for your own safety the safety of others....Good Morning and God bless....‪#‎Church‬...
Another takes on additional meaning given what happened. He wrote: "Enjoy life to the fullest because you never know what day could be your last." The incident that took Churchill's life happened on Sunday, January 4. At about 4:30 p.m., according to the Denver Police Department, officers were dispatched to the area near East Bruce Randolph Avenue and Steele Street on a report of shots fired.

Upon their arrival, they found Churchill, who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, apparently from a drive-by shooting. He was rushed to an area hospital, but medical treatment couldn't save him.

In coverage of the original shooting, Fox31 noted that the cold temperatures at the time of the shooting meant witnesses were scarce. Nonetheless, the DPD has issued a crime alert asking for anyone with information about the case to contact Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP (7867). A reward of up to $2,000 is being offered in the case.

Meanwhile, Churchill's sister, Paris Davis, has established a Gofundme.com page in his name. The text speaks to the depth of her grief.

The introduction reads: "Hello my name is Paris Davis my little brother Daerius Churchill was murdered on January 4th. I am asking for help to give my brother a proper burial. With my brother being as young as he is you don't think about him possibly not being here. He was a very inspiring young man who was trying to become somebody, being that this was unexpected I'm asking for help. Anything will help. Thank you."

Here's a Fox31 report from shortly after the shooting.
