MediaNews Group vice chairman and chief executive officer/Denver Post publisher Dean Singleton faces the same kind of bleak economic outlook as any newspaper magnate, albeit with a number of intriguing twists -- among them the potential closure of the Rocky Mountain News, the Post's joint-operating-agreement partner in Denver. But at least he knows he'll have a happy day on May 14. That's when the Mizel Museum honors him as the recipient of the 2009 Community Cultural Enrichment Award winner at the museum's annual dinner. He may be a divisive figure in journalism circles here and beyond, but there's no hint of that in the promo item seen here. Rather, he's said to enjoy "worldwide acclaim."
