The arrest affidavit in the Perrish Cox rape case was released Friday, and new details have come to light that the Denver Bronco no doubt wishes had stayed in the dark forever. According to the affidavit, Cox's accuser believes she was drugged and raped in September 2010, and DNA evidence reveals that Cox is the father of her child. The affidavit also states that two other Broncos were present the night of the incident.

The alleged victim told police she went out with friends before going back to Cox's apartment in Lone Tree with a friend who was dating Cox at the time, along with Bronco wide receiver Demaryius Thomas and defensive back Cassius Vaughn. She claims to have had about four drinks, then blacked out while being kissed and groped by Thomas.

According to the affidavit, she woke up the next morning and felt as if she had sex, but had no recollection of it. During the investigation, DNA evidence was collected from Cox, Thomas and Vaughn, who was Cox's roommate at the time and claimed to be asleep while the group was at the apartment. It was determined that Cox was the father of the accuser's child.

Cox faces two felony charges of sexual assault on a helpless victim and on a victim incapable of appraising her condition. If convicted, he could face between two years and life in prison. He has pleaded not guilty and faces trial in Douglas County District Court in October.

The affidavit was released despite objections from Cox and his accuser, after the Denver Post and Associated Press went to court to argue for the document's release. Cox was arrested in December 2010 after the alleged victim found out she was pregnant last October; he is currently free on bail.
