But that's when a man was stabbed to death on Saturday in an Aurora cul de sac.
At this writing, a suspect who was taken into custody shortly after the incident has yet to be identified. But we know the reason he's got a designated a cell is thanks largely to a witness who followed him after the incident.
At around 10:30 a.m. Saturday on the 4200 block of South Quintero Court, according to the Aurora Police Department, officers responded to a call about a stabbing.
But before they could arrive at the address in question, they were flagged down by a witness at a business on the 16900 block of East Quincy Avenue, not far away. This individual had been following the suspect from the scene and was able to point the cops in his direction.
The suspect was taken into custody without incident. Meanwhile, other members of the APD were at the address where the crime had taken place, as were paramedics trying to save the victim, identified only as an adult male.Unfortunately, they were too late. The stabbing victim was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
At this point, investigators believe the two men got into an altercation inside the house that ended with one finding a knife and stabbing the other multiple times. They also note that other people were at the house when this attack took place, but at least thus far, the APD hasn't shared details about their relationship to each other.
Thus far, a mug shot of the suspect hasn't been released, because it was needed for photo lineup purposes. We'll update this post when we get more information.
