In March, IKEA formally announced that its first Colorado store would open in the fall of 2011. But another deadline is much closer, and IKEA fans are counting down the seconds -- literally.

A blogspot for Colorado IKEA fans has two separate countdown clocks. One ticks away the time before the grand opening, which is approximately 73 weeks, four days and twenty hours away at this writing. More immediately, however, is groundbreaking at the construction site, which will take place tomorrow. As I type this sentence, it's just under 22 hours away.

By the way, the site linked above isn't affiliated with IKEA -- just with folks who love the place. Also included are links to local news items, like a Channel 4 report from last month featuring 29 whole seconds of IKEA bliss plus a collection of the top ten IKEA ads of the past decade.

Like the ones Coloradans will be able to see next year.
