Introducing...a Pot-Infused Vaginal Suppository?

We've covered some of the weirdest ways to ingest cannabis in the past, but Foria may have one-upped anything we've written about with its new pot-infused vaginal suppository, which is set to hit California dispensary shelves today and Colorado's very soon.

Foria, the same company that brought you pot-infused sex lube, is now offering alternative pain relief for monthly menstruation. The suppository — made of a mix of cocoa butter, CO2-extracted cannabis oil and a CBD isolate — is intended for women only and delivers approximately 60 milligrams of THC and 10 milligrams of CBD.

But don't expect it to get you stoned. Foria says the new suppository is "non-psychoactive because of the delivery format."

"Foria Relief is the first vaginal suppository designed specifically for menstrual discomfort," the company says. "Till now, women had few options to address menstrual discomfort, primarily systemic pain relievers such as Ibuprofen or herbal teas, since the only other vaginal suppository products have been yeast medications or birth control."

Marijuana delivered via suppositories is absorbed faster than traditional edibles because the former is absorbed through the vaginal mucosa instead of the liver, which can take up to two hours to take effect. Absorption through the vaginal mucosa wall takes around fifteen minutes.

You can only find Foria's vaginal suppository in California for now, but expect to see it in Colorado in the very near future.

On Tuesday, January 26, Green Labs will host Bend and Blaze – a free, 21+ vinyasa yoga class with optional cannabis consumption – from 6 to 7:15 p.m. Participants must register on the Bend and Blaze eventbrite page.

Christian/marijuana support group Stoners 4 Jesus — a church group whose members embrace the spiritual connection that cannabis brings them — holds weekly Bible-study meetings from 6 to 8 p.m. every Thursday at Quince Essential Coffee House.

The Indo Expo Trade Show returns to the Denver Mart on Saturday, January 30, and Sunday, January 31. The marijuana business conference will feature hundreds of cannabis brands, from smoking accessories to harvesting tools, in an effort to build connections between retailers, wholesalers and the general public. The first day is for businesses and industry professionals only, but on Sunday, there will be workshops, seminars and a job fair for the general public. Johnny Welsh will be at the Boulder Book Store to sign his book Weedgalized in Colorado: True Tales from the High Country — a colorful and informative book about Colorado's "historic transformation into a cannabis-friendly state" — from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, January 31. Weedgalized is a funny take on the cannabis scene that also offers detailed information on the industry. Welsh will sign copies of the book, answers questions and read a few pages for your listening pleasure. Attendance is free, but the book will run you around $20.


The Denver Kush Club and Spangalang Brewery are hosting Vinyl Sundays — weekly parties dedicated to sharing the love of records, beer and ganja — at Spangalang. The Denver Kush Club will hand out free joint cards and merchandise while Spangalang forgets to charge full price for beers. Bring in some vinyl records to share and receive $1 off each beer. 21+

Cannabis Clinicians of Colorado has postponed its monthly meeting to Tuesday, February 2. The meeting will still take place at 6:30 p.m. (though the location has yet to be determined), when members will be updated on Colorado's medical marijuana regulations and hear a presentation on cannabis and pregnancy from Dr. Laura Borgelt. Marijuana industry group Women Grow will hold its 2016 Women Grow Leadership Summit from Wednesday, February 3, to Friday, February 5, at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House, with welcome and networking sessions held at the Curtis Hotel. The three-day event will feature more than sixty experts on the legal cannabis industry, including Jane West of Women Grow, Kayvan Khalatbari of Denver Relief and Meg Sanders of Mindful. On top of daily workshops that cover both entrepreneurial and cannabis topics, attendees will be treated to morning yoga sessions with industry leaders and talks with Greta Gaines and Melissa Etheridge. Tickets range from $149 to $1,199, but will go up after February 1.
