The study of neighbors through their lawn decorations...

Figure 62. Westwood Iron Man remake not as good as Overland Iron Man original.

The Iron Man pictured on the left side of the photo above opened to mixed reviews last week in Denver's Westwood neighborhood. The bright colors and playfully oversize gas-tank beer mug suggest that this pose was taken from the movie sequel scene where Iron Man is getting drunk -- at what he believes will be his last birthday party. The slapdash construction intimates that the yard artist is slowly being poised by the palladium in his arc reactor.

In comparison, the Overland neighborhood Iron Man (on the left) looks like it was designed with the aid of a J.A.R.V.I.S. computer. The classic features and sturdy construction hint at a scrappy hero that can beat his alcoholism and win the love of Gwyneth "Pepper Potts" Paltrow. The Mjolnir (hammer of Thor) placed in Overland Iron Man's left hand indicate that there is more to come in the Denver Iron Man neighborhood trilogy.
