Almost exactly two years ago, on August 28, 2011, Bradmon allegedly began yelling at a neighbor's daughter and another kid from the area for the crime of chalking the sidewalk next to her house.
The girl's dad heard this crazy exchange and confronted Bradmon, at which point she took aim with a pellet gun described as a replica of a Colt semi-automatic.
The fake gat was convincing enough that the neighbor is said to have taken cover behind his truck and immediately called 911. And the cops who responded thought it was real, too, until they took it into their possession.Before long, 9News caught wind of the exchange and interviewed Bradmon as she was riding in her motorized wheelchair.
In conversation, she mostly shrugged off the incident. "It's a pellet gun, it wasn't loaded," she told the station, adding that if she owned actual firearms, "it has a permit -- two of them, as a matter of fact." She also characterized neighbors who'd spoken to a 9News reporter as "trash" and said they were lying about her.
Not according to a jury of her presumably less crotchety peers. This week, they convicted her of felony menacing. She'll be formally sentenced on October 25, and while it's unlikely she'll get any jail time given her age, she might enjoy the atmosphere, since it's doubtful inmates are allowed to use sidewalk chalk.
