Today marks the beginning of Denver Arts Week, a cultural celebration that encompasses a multitude of people, places and things -- and you'll be able to read about many of them in this space. But the celebration of art is hardly limited to Colorado's capital city. During a recent visit to Boulder, I happened upon this excellent display at the Boulder Arts & Crafts Gallery; it's part of "Radioland," an artistic salute to KGNU, a public radio station that can be heard in Boulder at 88.5 FM and in Denver at 1390 AM. The "Radioland" page on the station's website notes a passel of locales where other artifacts in the series can be viewed, including the Boulder Outlook Hotel and Twist & Shout in Denver. But an info sheet accompanying the Arts & Crafts Gallery item includes at least one place that isn't listed online: the Boulder Municipal Employees Federal Credit Union. Any project that's bringing beauty to a lending institution is doing something right. -- Michael Roberts
