Today, both the Wall Street Journal and CNBC have published articles about our quest, both of them high-larious. Predictably, the Journal takes a business angle, declaring, "In this era of contracting newsrooms, Westword is seemingly creating a new journalism beat: Pot Critic" -- but at least the reporter gives editor Patricia Calhoun a chance to crack wise: "I know that within five minutes of the posting, we already had an application -- which is very fast turnaround for a stoner," she says. Yet the CNBC offering is even funnier, if only because of the line "A staff writer, writing under the pseudonym 'Joel Warner,' is currently doing the marijuana reviews." In truth, the reviews are penned by one Mae Coleman. Still, Warner (his real name, he swears) isn't offended. In fact, he's thinking about making quotation marks a permanent part of his byline. I've never been more jealous.
