On September 23, I wrote "Paying for Conservation at Denver Water," a blog that juxtaposed Denver Water's energetic advertising campaign with reports that the agency was considering a robust rate hike. Along the way, I mentioned the availability of free Denver Water merchandise on the affiliated UseOnlyWhatYouNeed.org website -- and while visiting the page (which currently features a thanks for conserving water this summer and little else), I picked out a nifty tote bag. I forgot about the whole thing moments later, so imagine my surprise when the bag arrived a couple of days ago, a lightning fast seven weeks after I placed my order.
If a water main breaks outside my house, I hope the turnaround time is a little quicker. -- Michael Roberts
