As expected, former gay-porn star Timothy Boham's claim that that a Colorado businessman he was accused of murdering had actually killed himself -- a dubious defense made famous by Wall of Sound innovator Phil Spector -- didn't manage to sway the twelve folks deciding his fate. The jury took less than five hours to convict him yesterday.
According to the Denver Post article linked above, Chief Deputy District Attorney Bonnie Benedetti declined to comment after the verdict -- an unusual display of reticence for the winning legal team. Then again, the conviction of Boham wasn't exactly a surprise given that his own mother testified against him. He'll be sentenced today to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Many inmates regard this fate to be harsher than the death penalty -- the type of ruling handed out to Robert Ray in another Colorado courtroom around the same time that the hammer came down on Boham. Whose future films will be shot by penitentiary security cameras.
