Richard Holman's August 2011 arrest wasn't the first in which he was accused of sexually assaulting a child -- but it may be his last.

The 51 year old seen in this ultra-disturbing mug shot (a larger version is below) has been sentenced to 48 years behind bars for a crime that started with hickeys according to a probable cause statement on view in its entirety.

The report notes that Holman invited the boy to his North Federal Boulevard home at about 7:45 p.m. on August 13 of last year, ostensibly to watch a movie. The victim sat on a sofa, and after a time, Holman leaned over and began caressing his neck with his hands.

Shortly thereafter, Holman replaced his hands with his mouth, leaving two red hickeys on either side of the boy's neck before beginning to fondle him.

The offenses that happened next are redacted, with the words "Suspect then" trailing off into the equivalent of one or more blanked-out lines.

Afterward, the boy reported about what had happened to an "outcry witness" (that's a legal term), with the police soon getting the news, too. And upon taking Holman into custody, investigators discovered he'd been down this road before. As noted by the Denver Post, he was busted in Denver and Montezuma counties on sex-with-children charges circa 1997, eventually receiving a six-year prison jolt on one of the cases. Then, in 2003, he failed to register as a sex offender in Arapahoe County, leading to another finding of guilt -- and inspiring Denver Deputy DA Andrea Eddy to ask for a max sentence in the latest crime.

In the end, the book landed heavily on Holman. Earlier this year, he pleaded guilty to second-degree kidnapping and attempted sexual assault of a child -- and last Friday, he was given 48 years behind bars, with ten years of intensive supervised probation for sex offenders to follow his release...if he ever walks free again, that is. He was also branded a sexually violent predator.

Here's a larger look at Holman's booking photo and the aforementioned probable cause statement.
