It's difficult to find photos of Taressa on either her Facebook page or that of her grandmother that don't show her posing with one of her kids. Here's one example....
...and another.... ...and another: But then, on Monday, November 24, Taressa flipped her truck on I-70 near Byers. The working theory, her brother Donny Rector told 9News, is that she hit a patch of black ice.The two kids with Taressa received only minor injuries. But she was seriously hurt, prompting this Facebook message posted by her aunt the next day: "Please, anyone reading my post that believes in the power of prayer, I am asking you to pray for my niece and her family. She was in a bad accident."
Unfortunately, a miracle didn't take place. Her grandmother shared this post on Wednesday: "My beautiful granddaughter, Taressa Leann went on her journey at 3.37 pm November 26th to be with the lord. She was a faithful Christian and will be missed by all left behind, baby girl you will be missed forever by your family. RIP Taressa....."
In the wake of Taressa's death, her grieving relatives set up a GoFundMe page seeking donations for the support of her seven children, who Donny has pledged to raise. They range in age from fourteen years to two months.
The introduction to the page reads:Taressa Carruba was a woman whose whole life revolved around her children. She cared for them more than anything, and that love showed through when you interacted with her family.The goal for the page was $5,000. As of this writing, more than $7,600 has been pledged. An update reads:This past week, she was involved in a terrible car accident which ultimately took her life. Now, her mother is left behind with the hopes of being able to keep all of the children together and raise them as their mother would have.
Taressa was a part of our church family and her children would walk over to church every Sunday morning to enjoy Sunday School with us. Over the past two and a half years, these children have become a huge part of our lives, and we wish to help Taressa's mother through help in taking care of these children. In order to do this, we are reaching out to family, friends, members of the community, and complete strangers so that we can raise funds or accept donations that will feed, clothe, and provide for the needs of this family.

The willingness of people to give donations to help these children out is amazing me. When I saw the total this morning, I just sat down and cried. It is amazing what can be done when people come together and work towards a common goal.
