UPDATE: Slacker is back. Hear his return to the air on Latest Word.

Original post: Slacker and Steve, the co-hosts of the popular afternoon-drive show on 105.9 Alice, are well-known for their sense of humor.

But it was no laughing matter yesterday, when Slacker passed out during a live broadcast.

Slacker, who closely guards his real moniker (he's only revealed that his first name is Michael), was in mid-broadcast when radio listeners heard a thump -- after which the station quickly started playing music. What happened? Alice Program Director Mike Peterson posted this explanation on the station's Facebook page:
Here's a quick update of what happened tonight at 6 p.m. on the Slacker and Steve show. To confirm, Slacker did pass out in the middle of a conversation live on the radio. He was immediately taken to the hospital for testing. He has since been released and is now home resting. We will keep you updated on his status as we learn more tomorrow.
Another note appears on the Slacker and Steve Facebook page, as shared by another station personality, Lil D:
Yi! I just wanted to leave a quick comment about what happened to Slacker today. First, thank you all for your well wishes. He was taken to the hospital for some tests and is now resting. That's really all the information I have as of right now. If I hear anything from Slacker or his family, I'll be sure to let you all know. Thanks again!
No surprises that a slew of folks responded to these posts with comments of their own. Here's a sampling:
Get well SOON!! I need that duo every afternoon.

I knew he didn't look well on 9News today! Kinda pale and just not acting like himself.... You're in my prayers, Slacker!

Take a few days off and let the wife pamper you. We need you, man.

Feel better soon I need you guys to get through my long commute home. Also, we don't need Steve faking an emergency to get some of this love headed his way! Thoughts and prayers to you and your family.

Did Steve have to do mouth to mouth?!? Lol jk glad you're home! Hope u didn't hurt your head.
