There were few players or coaches with Colorado connections on the field in Tampa Bay during yesterday's far-better-than-anticipated Super Bowl. But in-between the action, a few square-state notables popped up. Among the local-commercial highlights were Frontier Airlines spots for "Super Roll 43," a sale that tied into the Super Bowl in amusing fashion without actually mentioning the event -- a fiscally savvy move if ever there was one. No wonder Frontier is among the few carriers that's actually showing a profit these days, perhaps foreshadowing its emergence from bankruptcy as early as mid-year. In addition, Colorado resident Joe Cocker's rendition of "Feelin' Alright" provided the soundtrack for a NBC promo in which assorted stars sang along with the gravel-voiced music vet -- and the clip above, focusing specifically on NBC's Heroes, ended with John Elway flying to the rescue of an NFL all-star squad featuring Warren Sapp and Jerry Rice. In response, actor Greg Grunberg, who plays Matt Parkman on the show, says, "I knew he was one of us." If that's true, though, why the hell did he have to retire?
