Take the tale of William Thalley and Nicole Fernandez shared by the Denver Police Department. After their thus-far-unnamed three-year-old was shot in the leg, they reportedly told cops the injury had taken place during a drive-by shooting. Exciting -- and not entirely plausible. DPD reps now thinks dad Thalley did it at their 3477 W. Alaska Place home -- and they've backed up this belief by charging him with the crime, and accusing mom Fernandez of being an accessory.
The child is in serious condition. And the parents? Their situation is serious in a different way. Look below for a photo of Fernandez and more details:
On November 22, 2009, at 7:19 p.m. the Denver Police Department received a call from St. Anthony's Hospital indicating that a three-year-old child had been shot one time in the leg. When Officers arrived, the parents indicated that the child had been shot by an unknown Hispanic male at Morrison Road and Lowell Blvd. Further investigation determined that the child had actually been shot by his father in their home, located at 3477 W. Alaska Pl., in Denver.
