National Poetry Month is for everyone, and so is El Centro Su Teatro's tenth-annual Neruda Poetry Festival, which begins today, smack dab in the middle of the nation's bardish celebration of metered, arranged, improvised and performed verbiage. And you'll enjoy some of each during this three-day event, kicking off with tonight's Homecooked Poetry, a poetic homage to Chicano movement veterans Flor Lovato and Margie Domingo, 7 p.m. at El Centro, 4725 High Street. The annual Barrio Slam performance poetry bash returns tomorrow at the same time, and on Saturday, Su Teatro's Tacos and Words Literary Salon will host the Anaya Project, featuring creative responses to the troupe's workshopped stage version of Rudolfo Anaya's Bless Me Ultima by local and regional voices, at 5:30 p.m. The fest's main attraction, ¡Representa!, a word-theater presentation by guest poets Paul S. Flores and Julio Cardenas, follows at 8:05 p.m.

Admission to the various events ranges from $5 to $18. Log on to the El Centro Su Teatro website for information, or call 303-296-0219 to reserve tickets in advance.
