The new digital film Rejoicing the Roots, which premieres in town tonight and tomorrow, is actually the product of a three-way collaboration between artists whose ties to the region echo the locally made work's roots theme. This unique take on a live performance by the renowned Denver troupe Cleo Parker Robinson Dance, with music by area musician Tom Tilton and combo, was made by a local filmmaker Gwylym Cano, in partnership with Tilton's Jae Ram Arts. That's a rare, totally homegrown combination and one worth rejoicing. Amen!
Rejoicing the Roots screens both nights at 7 p.m. at the Landmark Esquire, 590 Downing Street; admission is $10. For information call 303-733-9939 -- and look below for a sneak-preview video. -- Susan Froyd
