On the first day of the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, the delegation from Colorado earned a reputation as upstarts when they walked out of the Quicken Loans Arena en masse following a failed attempt to force a vote that would have changed convention rules and challenged Donald Trump's bid for the GOP presidential nomination.

Most assumed that the Colorado delegation staged the walkout as a "Never Trump" protest.

But on CBS's Late Show, host Stephen Colbert pointed out that there may have been another reason why the Colorado delegation left when they did.

“Look at what time the Colorado delegates walked out…4:20, my friends!” Colbert said during Monday's show

“They might not have been mad; they might have been a little, say, snacky?”

Watch the segment below, which starts at the 2:15 mark.

Colbert wasn't the only person to notice, either. On Twitter, various users picked up on the interesting timing as well.
