At this point, Aurora Police Department reps haven't released the identity of the man found stabbed to death at a home near the Saddle Creek Golf Course.

But they've revealed the name of a suspect arrested for investigation of homicide -- Trevor Stewart, 22 -- and confirm that he's a relative of the victim. The Aurora Sentinel, citing a family source, reports that the dead man is Smith's father, Robert Stewart, and Trevor was recently diagnosed as a schizophrenic.

Man Arrested in Connection with Homicide Investigation

Aurora, Colo. -- On Wednesday, April 28, 2010, shortly after midnight, the Aurora Police Department received information from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office about a possible homicide that may have occurred in a residence in Aurora.

The man who reported this information to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office was subsequently identified as 22-year-old Trevor Stewart of Aurora. Sheriff's Deputies detained Stewart, secured his vehicle, and contacted the Aurora Police Department.

Aurora Officers drove to the residence identified by Stewart, which is located in the 21000 block of E. Roland Drive, and found a deceased man inside. The victim appeared to have been stabbed multiple times. Officers secured the crime scene and requested the assistance of the Major Crimes Unit (MCU).

MCU detectives and personnel from the Crime Scene Investigation Unit (CSI) responded to take charge of the investigation. Detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence and began a search of the home.

Trevor Stewart, who is a relative of the victim, is being held for investigation of 1st Degree Murder. He is presently in the Aurora Detention Center and is expected to be transported to the Arapahoe County Jail later Wednesday. Detectives are not seeking any other suspects at this time.

Trevor Stewart's arrest photo and the deceased victim's identity are not available for release at this stage of the investigation.
