Uber for Stoners: Marijuana-Friendly Ride Loopr Launches

Going out for a night on the town but pretty sure you're going to be partaking in cannabis? Loopr to the rescue.

The "mobile cannabis lounge" is a marijuana-friendly concept bus ride, similar to The Hopper, that's like a shiny new Uber for stoners.

Loopr revved up this week, with rides from 4 p.m. to midnight Thursday and Friday (with plans to expand to other weekdays), as well as noon to midnight Saturdays and, to appease the brunch crowd, 10 a.m. to noon on Sundays.

Here's how to get a ride: Download the app and become a member. You can pick between a 24-hour pass at $25, 72-hour pass at $60, a week at $110 and a month-long pass for $200.

The app is sleek in design and easy to navigate, drawing out a detailed map of the bus's route. During its designated hours, Loopr will circle the city, focusing on the most hopping parts of town. And as you roll along, you can smoke marijuana between your designated stops — or just ride Loopr all night, if you feel so inclined. 

This 44-seat bus is more than just a chill spot to smoke, though.

"People have been waiting for an option like this, one that not only respects but champions their embrace of cannabis," says Loopr founder and CEO Bryan Spatz. "Loopr celebrates cannabis, helping to place it where it belongs — fully integrated into the cultural and entertainment heart of a vibrant, cannabis-friendly city."
