WPD officers responded at around 8:40 a.m. Sunday. The man was promptly transported to a nearby hospital with what are described as critical injuries. We've reached out to the department for news about his current condition and will update this post when and if we receive a response. (See update below.)
Several witnesses are said to have overheard an argument between "at least two male parties" shortly before the man was found -- and that jibes with information obtained from neighbors by 7News. Profanities were among the invective they overheard prior to the man being injured.
In addition, reports have surfaced about what's described as an older model white pickup truck seen leaving the area, as well as a female witness "associated with a red car." No makes, models, license plate numbers or other details have been shared.Update: Moments ago, we heard back from Westminster Police Department spokeswoman Inspector Kate Kazell. She writes via e-mail: "The victim is still in the hospital with critical injuries. We don't have any additional information on the incident and are not releasing victim or witness information due to the fact that the second party involved is still outstanding. Detectives are working on piecing together what happened, and hopefully we will receive some tips based on the media coverage or the second party will come forward and talk to us about what happened."
If you've got any information about what took place, you're encouraged to contact the Westminster Police Department at 303-658-4360 or Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP (7867). Here's the aforementioned 7News report.
