As we've reported, the Facebook page for the Regis University School of Physical Therapy posted tributes to Neiman after her death. Text accompanying this photo.... ...reads: "Rachel was an adventurer who approached life with a sense of excitement, challenge, and determination. Those traits are exemplified by this photo high above Machu Picchu in Peru."Tragically, further travels were cut short by what took place on November 7. According to the 17th Judicial District DA's office, Felan and Chicano were street racing on Federal Boulevard near 54th Avenue in Adams County when Felan "lost control of his vehicle, drove into oncoming traffic and crashed into Neiman's vehicle."
Felan is clearly an automotive aficionado. The photo gallery on his Facebook page is almost entirely dominated by photos of cars. Here's one of him posing with a vehicle.... ...plus one shot.... ...and another.... ...featuring rides at various points in the restoration process.Chicano's Facebook page features more standard pics, including this one....
...and this one: If Chicano and Felan knew each other prior to the crash, it's not reflected on Facebook. Neither is listed as a friend of the other -- but their fates are now intertwined, at least from a legal standpoint. Allegations against Felan include one count of vehicular homicide, another specifying the accusation that he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol, plus two charges apiece of vehicular assault, vehicular assault while driving under the influence and DUI, as well as an accusation that he was "engaging in a speed contest on a public highway." Chicano, for his part, is looking at one count of vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and engaging in a speed contest, and two beefs in regard to leaving the scene of an accident resulting in serious bodily injury and vehicular assault.A $20,000 bond has been set in the case; Chicano is due in court tomorrow. Here's a look at their booking photos.
