Late last night, Jefferson County Sheriff's officers responded to an address on the 30000 block of Hill Top Drive in Evergreen, where they made a grisly discovery.
A thus-far-unidentified 24-year-old woman wasn't breathing and had undergone some type of trauma -- enough to kill her. Before long, the woman's brother, Zachariah Thomas Santaguida, 18, was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder.

Jefferson County, Co. -- On April 8, 2010 at 10:55 p.m. the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office responded to an adult female not breathing in the 30000 block of Hill Top Drive. The victim, a 24-year-old female, was found by her sister in the family home.
Medical personnel responded and it was determined that the female was deceased. Initial observations of the body showed some type of trauma. The residence was occupied by other family members, to include the female's brother, Zachariah Thomas Santaguida (dob 073191).
After interviewing Santaguida, investigators placed him under arrest and he was booked into the Jefferson County Jail. His next court appearance is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Monday, April 12, 2010. He is currently being held without bond for first degree murder.
The cause and manner of death will be determined by the Jefferson County Coroner, and positive identification of the victim will be withheld until the coroner completes the identification process.
