Anthony's Pizza & Pasta has been dishing out New York-style pizzas, pastas and sandwiches since 1984. Started by Henry Mann a tiny space on California Street downtown, the concept grew to a mini-empire along the Front Range. To celebrate its thirtieth anniversary today, the company is rolling back prices and giving customers the opportunity to pitch in a little extra to benefit Make-A-Wish Colorado.

For the rest of the day, the original Anthony's store downtown and other participating locations are offering 84-cent Neapolitan cheese slices, $8.40 cheese pizza pies, the opportunity to win a year of of pizza (for a family of four), as well as other in-store giveaways.

And if you opt to round up your tab -- to a dollar for a cheese slice or $10 for the whole pizza -- Anthony's will donate the difference to Colorado Make-A-Wish, which, according to a company spokesperson, "has granted more than 4,200 wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses throughout the state."

Current CEO John Le Bel opened the Colorado Boulevard Anthony's in 1999 and went on to create Anthony's Pizza & Pasta International Inc. with Mann and Michael Toltz, growing the business to 25 current location.

The original downtown Anthony's is open until 9 p.m. tonight, so you still have plenty of time to take advantage of the deal -- and to donate to a worthy cause.
