Owner Kevin Sher, a Chicago-born chef with kitchen, bar and restaurant-management experience in Vail and San Diego, says he and his partners will continue to offer ribs, brisket and pork, but will also expand the menu with salads and other less meat-forward options that will appeal to both male and female customers.
The new owners will also be adding a Sunday brunch, a cocktail menu and a new lineup of craft beers. Sher says he had been looking at opening a restaurant in Denver when the Tennyson location, already fully outfitted for slow-smoking meats, became available. "It's one of the up-and-coming neighborhoods for restaurants," he says, adding that he can envision a late-night scene developing on the street, at which point he and his partners may decide to stay open later. For now, the Tennyson Street Barbecue will be open until 11 p.m. on weeknights and midnight on Friday and Saturday.
Meanwhile, the Big Hoss location that had opened in the Streets of Southglenn is now Smokin Joe's.
